Hey,

I'm looking for an obsidian edge, because I really love that sword.
The thing is I don't wanna pay the money for it and just have the pleasure of getting it on my own. Now the following question is, how big is the chance I get one. How many runs do I have to do in Fow, and is this the only way to get it. Except from buying it from people of course.
How many times did you have to try, etc.

I think you can do FoW 100 times and not get one, thats why its so expensive

i did 30 fow runs 8man and saw two obsidian edges dropping

i did 1 fow nm run with my friend and he got q10 obsidian edge

it's just luck

Well ive done more then 200 uwsc runs and the UW chest never dropped an eternal blade for me. the droprate is about the same as Obsidian edge i believe so its just all luck

I've done three FoWSC runs and got one on my first run. It's all pure luck, just keep doing them and it'll come eventualy, and in the mean time, you'll get a mean load of shards

its all just luck you can do 500 runs and watch other people get them or you can do 1 run and get it on your first try. kinda like voltaic spear farming my friend has tried well over 500 runs and never got one, i've done maybe half those runs and gotten 3. depends on how much anet loves you so dont ever complain about the lag LOL.

seriously tho goodluck getting one!

yea i mean ive seen it in VSF everyone else in my group got a VS but me. I got double gems

But the drop rate is about the same( alot less but its close). So its all luck. Gl and hope you dont have a experience that everyone else in your group gets an obi edge and you dont ;p( it really will piss you off and get u mad at GW xD)

Its all luck. I've done 500+ FoW runs no obby edges and no VS etc. Some of my friends get one every 50 runs. Its completely random, just expect to do alot.

Just like Zchest it only takes 1 zkey or one run to get it.

Gold is so easy to get these days... Obby Edge isn't.

Just farm gold with your favorite farm until you can afford it.

i got a Volt Spear opening 50 z-chests. I just played a lot and I mean a lot of JQ for balt faction. Then used all of my keys at once cause someone said your chances are better doing it that way then opening 5 chests at a time.

So, that is what I suggest.

Got my r12 obby edge around 75-100 runs in FOW ages ago. I still got it and use it.
